Fantastic option! Probably one of the best all-in-ones on the market right now with unique features and great value. Though I'd actually recommend their X3 over the SX2. The X3 is their latest model with 1" holes which are a bit more popular nowadays and it's smith machine gets slightly lower for things like deadlifts, rows, and hip thrusts. But the SX2 is a great option if you want the 5/8" holes specifically. They are otherwise very similar.

Rough home gym arc: * Started working out during covid, mostly Beat Saber and did the X3 bar for a year * X3 Bar jacked up my shoulders, switched to kettle bells in 2022 * Switched to rowing in 2023 (had the rower for years, on-and-off rowing) * Rowed a lot through July, went down a YT/podcast rabbit hole on lifting and started building in July. * July: * bought some storage stuff to organize my bands * bought wall and ceiling anchors for bands * X3 long bar * cleared a dedicated floor space * August: "I'll just start with a bench + some adjustable dumbbells" (Trulap 8552s + Rep Blackwing) * October: * Not enough weight for deadlifts, time to expand the dumbbells. * Deadlifting with heavy dumbbells sucks, time to add a bar and some plates. * Got a couple of horse stall mats * Tried to DIY a leg extension attachment (it worked, but it also sucked). * November: * Deadlifting with a bar was sweet, so I wanted to squat. Ares 2.0 was still backordered til Feb, so I bought a cheap Amazon rack (\~$200). * Ordered the ritfit leg extension * December: * Ordered some landmine stuff. * Liking the cheap rack well enough that I can hold off for awhile on an Ares 2.0. Ordered some DIY pulley stuff that works surprisingly well (\~$250-300 all in). * Wife made me find a barbell coach to teach me proper form (good wife). * Received/assembled the leg extension just after Christmas (took them a month to ship it) * Ordered mutant metals dip handles and a bunch of grip options to go with the cables
