Best praise vs top criticism for Philips Evnia 34M2C7600
“It's a QD-OLED, nothing much else to be added. They're all the same basically, Philips has no downsides to it compared to the other UWs, HDR works just fine, not sure what ppl who say HDR is broken on it are coping on about. It's identical to the AW3423DW and Samsung G8, it also doesn't have black crush. It's shadow boost feature is the best I've seen on every monitor...ever. it selectively targets only shadow areas while keeping the rest of the image at it's normal, it's actually better than the previous best in class shadow boost feature on the Neo G8. It's fully G-Sync and FreeSync compatible, even though it's not certified by Nvidia. It's basically a good product that's competitive in the OLED monitor market, there are no particular downsides to it.”
“For gaming, the AOC is the best pick of those three, hands down - they are a reputable brand. Here's why I suggest it over the other two choices: In general (with many caveats) IPS displays like the Philips and AOC are more desirable than VA displays (like the Samsung). Then between the two, the AOC has a much higher refresh rate than the Philips, so it will be capable of showing more frames per second. Even if you can't currently run games that well with high frame rates, it's worth it to go for a higher refresh rate so it can keep up with your setup if you ever upgrade. Couple all of that with the fact that it's the cheapest of the three, and I don't see any reason not to go for it!”
