Best praise vs top criticism for Milo by Kana Classic Dutch Oven
“I'd use enameled Dutch oven or stainless steel for bone broth. Pressure cookers are great for that. I'd probably taste it to see if there's an off flavor but probably would end up pitching it.”
“Just to clarify for you, some pans are bare cast iron on the interior surface and some have enamel coating. Enamel is a glass like coating and you should never try to season it. Cleaning and maintaining is different for enamel than for bare cast iron. An example of bare cast iron would be your basic lodge cast iron pan. It is cast iron all over. If you look at pictures of the lodge enameled dutch oven however you will see that it has a white enamel coating on the inside. Some enamel coating is black in color and can be easily confused for bare cast iron. An example of this would be a Staub dutch oven. These have black enamel interiors. If yours is bare cast iron there are various methods to strip all the seasoning off and you can just re season it. If it is black enamel coating then you should not have tried to season it and those pock marks are broken enamel and it unfortunately can no longer be used.”
