Best praise vs top criticism for Dell Alienware AW2721D
“I had the AW2721D for a long time and I was super happy with it, so I would always lean towards the Alienware cuz I'm a little bias. The colours were outstanding and it's been the best monitor I've ever had. I'm about to pick up the AW2725DF OLED, which is going to be my first OLED. I've heard things about the flicker, so if it bothers me then I will more than likely return it and go for the IPS Alienware you listed. When are you looking to make a decision? Because I'll know within a week or so what the AW IPS looks like if the OLED doesn't hold up. I'll let you know if it helps :)”
“I assume he has the AW2721D. That is a very old monitor and the monitor space has moved a ton since then. You don't need to look hard to find <$300 monitors with the same specs from reputable brands. These also have newer panels with likely better performance too. A quick Google search gives me GIGABYTE GS27Q at $250 GIGABYTE M27Q at $300 Acer XV272U W2bmiiprx $250 etc etc. These monitors also come with full warranty compared to the expired warranty of you friends monitor.”
