Best praise vs top criticism for Acer Nitro XV272U
“There is more to a monitor than just size, resolution, and refresh rate. There are other performance metrics that have a big impact on your experience: contrast ratio, brightness, response times, viewing angles, uniformity, color accuracy, color gamut, input latency, and more. There are also features like VRR support, HDR support, USB-C, KVM switch, VESA compatibility, ergonomics, screen coating, HDMI and DP versions bandwidth, warranty. Tied to the warranty would be quality control and company size, a good warranty only goes so far if the failure rate is astronomical, and if it's a tiny company that disappears your warranty doesn't matter (and good luck finding a 3rd-party repair). Unfortunately, price is not always an indicator of better performance in these "secondary" categories. In the US market we have the Dell G2724D, which has excellent performance in most of these categories while costing less than almost every other QHD 165Hz+ option. If I were you, I would probably get the Acer XV272U, as while it's an older model it performs as well or better than the rest of the list, and it is one of the cheapest.”
“I tested the Samsung G70B 28" for gaming and returned it before a week. Didn't like the Tizen OS because it was slow and everything had to go through it. The IPS glow kills the black level for me and colors didn't seem as good as my Acer Nitro 31.5" 1440p curved VA monitor. I returned it and got the Dell G3223Q since it went on sale and I'm impressed at the black level for an IPS. The colors look better and more natural than my Samsung QLED TV. Having factory color calibration certification is a huge plus for Dell”
