“From what I understand, they put the emphasis on IT security and physical safety (e.g. avoiding battery fires). Personally, to me, IT security matters, so the access to the robot and it's camera as well as the safety of the data matters the most. Therefore I am looking at established higher value brands who 1) are from countries with strict data protection laws 2) have a history of smart appliances and services 3) don't have a bad track record with data security and 4) who have a premium brand image to loose 5) are not about to face bankruptcy. This unfortunately excludes all the big players and limits me to European companies like Bosch, Miele, Vorwerk, perhaps Dyson and Electrolux (although they are new to IoT) and if I take Korea into account Samsung and LG. I don't know the American market and brands.”
