Personally I'd opt for R3s on stands. I am personally a big fan of bookshelves, though. Offloading that low end duty the the sub(s) really gives room to open up the mids and highs on the bookshelves. I am running R3s currently and I could not be happier with them. I have also spent a lot of time with Q950s. IMO there is really no comparing the two. Completely different class of speaker.”

I’d say if you could return the R3s and get Q350s instead, and use the saved money towards a second subwoofer that would make a demonstrably better difference in experience for your home theater. Other than that, great job! And yeah, pull that couch in a couple of feet closer. You’re beyond the optimal resolution.”
