Best praise vs top criticism for DreamCloud The DreamCloud
“Yeah, they are super marketing focused and know that their product isn't great. Any negative feedback/truth is shunned and hidden. Here's a fun fact. I sold mattresses for a while. We had Nectar in our store. It was by far the most returned mattress line, along with Dreamcloud which is owned by the same people.”
“I sell mattresses for a living. 97% of my customers are happy with what they get the first time and have zero problems. Don’t buy gimmick, cheap, or marketing brands (Zinus, Dreamcloud, Nectar, Puffy) or overpriced mainstream brands (Beautyrest, Serta, to a lesser degree TempurPedic) and you’ll probably be fine. Want to hedge your bet? Go to a store and try some beds in person and see what you like. If you find something you like ask to see a cheaper alternative. If the cheaper one feels just as good ask what the differences are; if they can’t tell you go somewhere else as that place sucks. If they can tell you and it seems reasonable to pay for the differences, get the nicer one. If not get the cheaper one. People on the internet and internet brands make mattress shopping hard. It’s a subjective purchase so nobody can tell you what you are going to like, you have to put in a little effort. Even the brands I mentioned to avoid above have thousands of people who sleep fine on their products, the internet just likes to complain. Almost 100% of the warranty claims we submit as a store are approved and people get a new bed for free. I can’t think of but two that weren’t and it’s because the people were basically wanting a warranty replacement because they didn’t like the bed anymore when there was nothing wrong with the bed (we still gave both of them huge discounts on something new). We help people with the claims in the off chance there is one, and tell people when they buy how to not invalidate their warranty by making sure their frame/support/protector are all what they need. We also advise people on what causes the most returns (too firm) and explain what mattresses are a good for their body type and sleeping positions. Buying online is easy, buying from a local store gives you way more access to information and help if needed.”
