Best praise vs top criticism for SSP 64mm Multi-Purpose Burrs
“Grind quality is phenomenal. Better than the ssp mp 83mm burrs I put into my df83 imo. Flavors are rounder which is what I prefer. Some nitpitcky complaints are: 1. It can get locked up if you over tighten when you take it apart for cleaning and recalibrating. 2. Coffee grinds can get stuck in the catch cup threads which is annoying. 3. Grinder easily falls if standing up with the handle on (not balanced). My grinder fell off my table one time and the grip material got scuffed pretty bad. 4. A lot of times near the end of a grind session there's a loose bean or 2 that stubbornly won't go into the burr for some reason. Always need to shake the grinder over and over again to get them into the burrs. All in all I'm very happy with it though. Can't think of any other hand grinders out there that I'd buy over ZP6.”
“It took 11 pounds of my most hated coffee beans (done out of spite, mostly) before the burrs (SSP MP in my case) were seasoned enough to stop tasting astringent AF. You WILL need to season the burrs.”
