Best praise vs top criticism for 1Zpresso ZP6 Special
“The only reason I’d get one if I were you is if you want a different profile of coffee. If you want super light roast espresso and/or pourover with clarity a hand grinder like a zp6 would be good. If you want traditional style espresso from medium+ beans you are essentially end game already”
“I've had the same thought and have done this. ZP6 + Flair. It works but it's really not practical. It's kind of pointless because the grinder is really not designed for espresso and you're not going to be able to dial in. It's just turbo shots at whatever the grind setting just above burr rub gives. The ZP6 isn't optimized for those grind settings so you're not really getting the same kind of grind quality you get at pourover settings. Something like a K-Ultra or Lagom Mini/Casa is a better choice here IMO. I have a Lagom Casa and it gives clarity close to the ZP6 (though different) but it's actually espresso capable.”
