Best praise vs top criticism for Samsung Galaxy Tab S8
Best Praise
+3 ptsβI have a Samsung tab 8, Galaxy watch 5 and s24 plus phone. I like that they mesh together. It's why I'm looking at a 10 or 11 myself. If you have the family it makes sense to stay with the ecosystem, hopefully less problems.β

+5 ptsβI was asking myself the same question a few weeks back. Main use is reading, therefore I decided for a 7" or 8" tablet, which weighs around 300g. A 10" tablet would be at >500g too heavy and two big in the hand for reading sessions (I know because I had a Galaxy S8, which I sold after I bought a smaller tablet). I ended up buying the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G. I'm quite satisfied with it for reading. But what I like the most is the long battery life. It doesn't need to be charged often as with Galaxy S8 and my iPad Mini A17 and phones. However it sometimes feels laggy (but I'm fine with it. I'm in the process to detoxify myself from social media and the super bright screen that affects my sleep), but the Redmi Pad has reading mode, which is better for the eyes. And the software is annoying! (I'm used to Pixel, which is for me much polished and logical). For example I hate it that app notifications (the snakbar) stays for long in the bottom of the screen exactly where sometimes the button to be clicked in an app stays. And I hate it that it's an Android device, but it mimics iOS (I own the iPad Mini A17). The Settings is laid out like iPadOS and not like Android on Pixel, so it's sometimes hard to find things. The screen is also not very bright. So I doubt I can use it on the beach, when I'm going on the holiday in Italy this sommer. Overall I'm happy with it, as it serves the detoxification purpose.β
