Best praise vs top criticism for REP Fitness Ares 2.0
“Questions: 1. What is the price for the smith machine releasing next month and what is the projected price of the smith machine releasing next year that hasn't been sneak peaked yet? 2. Will the smith coming out next month be upgradable to the different version coming out next year? 3. What makes your new dip attachment unique? 4. This is more of a suggestion, but I would love to see you guys compete with Titan fitness (blow them out the water) and introduce machines into the lineup. Like a stand-alone leg/curl, some sort of press, row, ECT. However, with a “Rep Fitness” twist to it. Critiques: First off, I LOVE Rep Fitness products and at one point was even considering selling off my other products and switching to REP so I can have an all-REP gym. However, if you want some solid feedback, I do believe that you guys are somewhat lacking on customer “loyalty”. Not just from discontinuing the loyalty program. I was one of the people who fell for the marketing of the rep “ARES” system being your flagship product. I was fully convinced I was buying into a system that will grow with time and become an “ultimate product”. Examples would be like a proper lat pulldown seat solution or a better leg roller and attachments like the Pegasus. So much to the point that I was willing to reciprocate loyalty by buying exclusively REP products. It feels like you guys adopted an iPhone Apple business model where you expect us loyal customers to sell off our products to keep up with the newest and greatest. Before you say that nobody expects us to keep up then why market something as flagship and then change said product and continue to make new products that aren’t compatible with old product. A good example is the Pegasus was designed to work with the Ares 2.0 and Adonis – however it is border line useless with the Ares 1.0. All you needed to do was add a cutout so that it wouldn’t get in the way of the cable and be compatible with a product you guys claimed was the “flagship”. Its crazy that a bulldog pad from Sorinex is more compatible for a previous product you offered than a new product you just made. An example of a “loyal” company – When rogue fitness came out with the new Rhino rack trainer – you do have an option of calling Rogue and upgrading by buying the missing pieces and yes, I just called them and confirmed it to be possible. Lastly, another example of missing out on “loyalty” is most people who buy benches with attachment points buy into them expecting to build out an eco-system of attachments. I am sure we all can admit the bench attachment releases have been close to nothing. Please do not misinterpret my post as I AM a “Rep” fan boy however the lack of customer loyalty makes me hesitate to purchase as I have in the past in fear that version 2 will not just come out soon but also my version will become obsolete. Home gym equipment in my eyes is a purchase I justify because they will outlive me and eventually be in my son’s”
“How about using a utility bench mounted on the low crossmembers? Sounds better than sitting on the floor (but adds some extra cost). Also maybe try replacing the large carabiner with a smaller one. I also plan to order Ares 2.0 80” and this was puzzling me so thanks for the info. It seems that the lat pull bar solution they hand on 1.0 was much better on an 80” rack. Maybe there can be a way to avoid the banana clip and use a smaller carabiner. That would save you 4-5”. Please update us if you find a solution for the problem.”
