tldr; Budget all-in-one with smith machine and dual cables. Solid value but 2x3 uprights limit accessories and quality varies.

Best praise vs top criticism for Major Fitness Spirit B52 Smith Machine
“I honestly cannot wait to upgrade from the b52. When I started building my gym I didn't realize how important a modular rack could be. The 2x3 rack system they used and the distant hole spacing just leaves a lot to be desired. Otherwise, for the price, it's great, solid, and does everything I originally bought it for.”
“First and foremost, a large portion of the pieces were rusted straight out of the box. Both sleeves are completely rusted out from the inside, with the chrome finish peeling off. The bearings the bar attaches to that slide on the rails had rust and chipping to the finish. Pieces were bent, dented, and needed beat with a mallet to fit. Either they need to fix their storage and shipping conditions, or I paid full price and was sent a used return item rather than a new item warranting full price. The smith machine bar is not very balanced and pulls unevenly from right to left and I can sit there and wobble it up and down/back and forth. (I kept everything loose and only tightened up once finished building and in place. Everything else is sturdy, but the bar is wobbly. I do not like the pulleys. I’ve used pulleys on a square track before that slid with ease. These do not. The carriage for the plates sits too tight to the square frame and even with lube they are still difficult to pull and do not slide back down the posts easily unless loaded with a decent amount of weight. Lightweight exercises with them are practically undoable. Unloaded the carriages sometimes get stuck and don’t even return to the bottom of the track. Lastly, this was advertised as 12g steel. Right off the bat a magnet test determined it’s not even made of steel to begin with. More so, I found ONE single part on the entire machine made of 12g thickness. The rest is composed of 16g sheet metal that flops and warbles when you shake it like a baking sheet. I don’t trust their higher weight capacity claims and will not be loading this thing very heavy at all. Overall, I feel lied to about the quality, thickness, and materials used. I’m disappointed with the functionality of multiple pieces of it, and I received a piece of equipment that fresh out of the box is worn and beat up in multiple places. I just feel as if I would have received a better quality piece of equipment had I gone with the b52 like I’d wanted to. https://preview.redd.it/tefuogscv6be1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aae40d186a83693ac91e69da9f9adc1a679b4cdc”
