Best praise vs top criticism for Hoist CF-3753 7-Degree Smith Machine
“OK now the bad parts. It did not come with any directions. It seems like they built it to my specs then tore it down and packaged it. I had to look at several pictures they sent me to see how everything is put together. It wasn't easy and I had to zoom in on the pics. It did not come with any washers. I had to spend $100 of 1 inch diameter washers and spring washers. This size is not readily available at big box stores. It took me about 3 days to put everything together. The weight stack is on 10lbs increment. The top adder weight helps and it reduces smoothness. Maybe I need to lube the guide rods more. I'm still optimizing it. The smith machine is smooth with a slight wobble from side to side. Over all not a big deal. It came with a 55lbs barbell and not counter weighted. I ended up replacing this bar with a Fringesport shorty that weighs 35lbs. I also removed the spring safety to get a better range of motion and replaced it with GetRx's new smith machine removable safety. That that a good buy since its only $60. Overall no regrets but it took a lot of work.”
“No, no it hasn’t changed. The smith machine is also commonly referred to as “The Dumpster” because that’s where all the trash goes.”
