tldr; REI's workhorse tent. Roomy for 2P. Solid all-around performer.

Best praise vs top criticism for REI Co-op Half Dome SL 2+
“So while I’ve not used that specific tent I did use to use the half dome 2 plus and that one I’d say is fine for those wind speeds so long as it’s set up correctly. The key thing will be to guy it out. When you put the fly on there should be some Velcro strips on the underside that will wrap around the poles to ensure the fly is securely attached to the tent body. On the outside of the fly there will be attachment points for the guy lines (not sure if this one comes with lines already there, if not some paracord will work, I use reflective line because I’m clumsy but that’s beside the point). Terrain permitting, ideally the angle of the line from the fly to the stake should be 45 degrees and I also like to put the stake in the ground at a 45 degree angle leaning away from the tent. Either use a tensioner or a taut line hitch knot so that you can make the guy line nice and tight and that will add stability to the tent in strong winds. I have a Wawona 6 which is much taller and catches the wind much more and this method has seen me through 50mph winds with no problem. I also recommend each morning and night you double check the guy lines and make sure they’re still taut as they can loosen a bit in strong winds.”
