+2 pts“The Oreck Commercial XL isn't bad on low to medium pile carpets but it isn't good on hard floors and high/plush carpets. If you get one you'll want to buy a newer bag dock immediately so you can use the hepa bags instead of the paper bags. I think you should look at the Kenmore BU1001 B200 Series Commercial Vacuum $130. This is their version of a lightweight upright. It has several improvements over the Oreck Commerical XL. The Kenmore B200 has a 2 speed switch so it's a little better on hard floors, it uses large hepa bags, and it has led headlights. Both the Oreck and Kenmore B200 have no hose or tools so I'd pair them with a canister vacuum. So I'd look at the Simplicity Jill $134. It's a small canister vacuum with hepa bags and a hepa filter. It will do great on hard floors and the hose and tools will be good for the stairs and upholstery. The Kenmore Intuition is a small lightweight vacuum that can vacuum both carpet and hard floors and it has a hose and tools. But they all have swivel steering which can put more stress on your wrists and arms because you need to control the twist to control the steering. So it might be an option but I think it will put more stress on your hands than the Oreck or Kenmore B200 which have no swiveling.”
