Best praise vs top criticism for Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni
“Supposedly the T10 omni is better than the X10, from what I've seen on YouTube.”
“I've had an EcoVacs T10 Omni, so I can weigh in on some of this. The map shifting seems to occur when something in the room shifted (like a box or chair), it's a software issue and they don't seem to be inclined to fix it on. I can reproduce it pretty easily. EcoVacs seems to shift development to the next model pretty quickly post launch and unlike many other companies, they don't keep prior models in the software upgrade pipeline, so you end up stuck with an old version. Obstacle avoidance on my T10 is likely better than the T20 because it uses a camera. The T20 dropped the camera, so it relies on light sensors and is probably their first generation in use by them, so it wasn't mature. IIRC, the shift from the T10 to T20 marked when they shifted the "flagship" to the X-series, so the T-20 stayed mostly the same as the T-10 but lost the camera (going for the cheaper module) to realign it with a mid-tier feature set. Setting schedules and stuff can be frustrating, especially since it doesn't recognize daylight savings nor is the software localized very well. The removable tray came on a later model, I assume they held this back to be a feature then. From my experience, people outside of Asia should only get an EcoVac if they can get them on deep deep discount. Return units (and there are a lot of them) routinely end up on auction sites for 25-33% of the MSRP.”
