"A legion pro isn’t flamboyant is very low key and well built has the cpu for work and gpu to game. I love mine. I have the pro 5i with a 4070 and while it’s not an oled screen it’s still pretty nice 240mhz and 500nits. Does everything I need."

"Just wanted to bump, even though this topic has been discussed more since. ​ To reiterate, what's the point of a high powered 4000 series laptop with an overly large power supply ( such as a 230W on the Legion 5) if the GPU is gimped to 100W? I bought a Legion 15ARP8 with a 140W 4060, and one of the drawbacks is the size, weight and the huge power supply. "I feel you, in its time i refused to buy the Legion 7 despite being a respectable option with 16GB of VRAM because of my suspicion its "vapor chamber" meant it had liquid metal inside. Fast forward I realized it still just used PTM which is foolproof in comparison, making it a great deal, and that Lenovo are true gigachads and actually backed out when it comes to liquid metal cooling exactly because it would end up in a poor customer service and a sizeable graveyard of hardware. "Take this advice from me and simply avoid Lenovo Legion, I had a Legion 5 Pro (2021) and it got the solder joint issue right after its warranty period expired, and even before that issue, it was always running at 86/87c for the gpu and 95-99c for the cpu. Just got myself an Asus scar and I guess it’s a bit too early, but the temps here are literally a night and day difference, the only issue with it is the occasional stutters that sometimes happen after doing a Slack call, but that’s easily fixable by restarting the PC. "I was looking for a thin and light laptop that is good enough to play some newly released titles. Then I found Omen Transcend 14 Core Ultra 7 155H + RTX 4060.I use it primarily to load LLM into the VRAM for RnD stuff at work or personal project. I played some The Finals matches on it, on competitive settings and 1200p, it can sustain 100+ fps on average as long as we're not in Kyoto (heaviest map in that game) I also played some portion of Expedition 33 on Medium settings 1600p, getting above 60-90 fps on average. So yes, we can't really play at the laptop's native resolution (1880p) realistically speaking. That's just for something like graphics design and video editing use case. My main gripe is the fact that sometimes the GPU is keep getting its Power Draw to under 60W when it should be at it's full capability at 65W. The workaround is to use OmenMon (Open source 3rd party software) to force it to draw 65W. The other gripe is the CPU that is most likely should have used PTM7950 instead of whatever type of thermal paste they currently use. I use PTM7950-SP on my Desktop CPU and it's really great temperature-wise. The CPU is running pretty hot, although that is most likely by design because of the proprietary cooling tech from Intel that HP implemented. The cooling is great because this laptop doesn't feel hot despite that high temperature. Therefore could be better if we switch to PTM7950 instead. I'm really not sure what would I've gotten instead if I'm really being specific with thinness and weight. Zephyrus G14 is a great option have I don't already have a Gaming PC. I'd much rather invest money into my PC upgrades than on a gaming laptop that powerful which also encounter the issue of manufacturer cutting cost on its thermal paste quality. Zephyrus G14 (2024) RTX 4060 is also like 30% more expensive than Omen Transcend 14 (2024) RTX 4060 last I checked. The Zephyrus got 4 speakees and 2 subwoofers. ASUS out here really trying to make us not wear headphones it seems."

Personally my daily driver is an M-series MacBook Pro and my windows computer is for work and other tasks. I typically purchase open-box computers to test out (so I speak for from experience) and in the gaming laptop category, the Zephyrus G14 and G16 line-up is still head and shoulders above the rest IMO when it comes to the overall package (even with its flaws)."

"Your temps are completely fine for a laptop, your CPU and GPU depending on the thermal design can hit up to 105C, Now, make sure your drivers are up to date and that your laptop profile is running at "Turbo" some laptops have a utility that allows you to select performance profiles.
