Any light will get hot if your turn it up too bright but the DL10R has the XHP70.2 LED and it has a constant current boost driver, both of which are very efficient and will give you the best chance of bright enough but not too hot. Plus it has a larger head which will help dissipate the heat better than smaller flashlights.”
