You have lower hanging fruit, and buying a pack that’s ill-suited to the weight you’re carrying (ie a frameless pack) will make you miserable. Easier/simpler weight savings (these aren’t in order) - Pillow, a trekology 2.0 is a bit less comfortable (you’d save 6oz for $20 or 6oz/$20) at $3.3 per oz - not pushing too hard, but you could save ~25oz with a nice ($500) quilt (it’s more setup and draftier than a sleeping bag, happy to talk more if you want) $20/oz - wear a sun hoodie instead of the tshirt and drop the long sleeve (8.2oz) free! - nyloflume pack liner ($10?) and drop the pack cover. (2.5oz) $4/oz - rovyvan a5 flashlight and drop the headlamp ($40/3.5oz) $11.4/oz - regular wide neoair xlite regular wide; less comfortable and a louder, but nearly as warm ($220/24oz!!) $9.1/oz - drop the tent footprint (6oz) free! - get a 2 bic minis and drop the fire-starting kit (2oz/$5, only if you feel comfortable) $2.5/oz - trim your first aid kit to what you know how to use; something like leukotape, gauze, a pin/needle (blisters), ibuprofen, acetaminophen, imodium and mini scissors. - brs 3000 (2oz/$18) $9/oz If you insist on getting a pack now, look at a kakwa 55 (13oz/$220) $17/oz. If you get your base weight to 10lbs then you could get something like the MLD exodus, (27oz/$325) $12/oz. You could also build spec your own with KS ultralight.”
