Best praise vs top criticism for Steelcase Series 1
Best Praise
+7 pts“Neither are terrible deals, but they are very different chairs. The Aeron is going to be a higher end chair, but definitely holds the reputation of being a love it or hate it type of chair, so I always recommend sitting in one first before purchasing if possible - I almost never recommend buying an Aeron blind. $350 is a fair price for one though depending on condition and if you like it. The Series 1 is a solid chair for the price, and is likely newer than the Aeron (I didn't see tags in the pictures to confirm that), but it's a significant step down in overall quality from the Aeron. The main complaint we see on the Series 1 is the seat - many people find it too firm and thin. Really comes down to which fits you better IMO, try them both and see which you like better.”

+5 pts“I don’t recommend the Series 1. To me, it felt flimsy, cheap, and small. I am 6’0 and 180lbs, and it felt too tight for me. I recommend holding out for a Leap or even an Amia.”
