Best praise vs top criticism for State Bicycle Co. 4130 All-Road
“if you’re set on a new bike, the state 4130 all road is a pretty good complete bike! gravel bikes make great commuters, this one is steel and (in my area, at least) runs around $900. it’s got mounting points for bags and racks, frame clearance for fenders, etc. however, imo your best bet is almost always gonna be a used bike from your local bike shop. as long as you can find an honest, workin man’s bike shop, you’ll be set with a bike, parts, service, etc.”
“This bike is a homebuilt project based on a 30 year old repainted frame and is not worth the asking price. I bet it's painted with spray cans with a weak clearcoat that won't last. The gearing is wildly high and what are those wheels? Look at the front Schrader valve. Avoid. For 500 you can get a good used bike. State Bicycle 4130 All-Road is similar but is actually a real bike. Marin also makes good value bikes.”
