Best praise vs top criticism for Specialized Roubaix SL8
“If my eyes don't deceive me there are some interesting mods on there (is that a 1x?! The chain does not look like the chain for SRAM Force...), not all of which may be what you would want. But those wheels alone are not cheap... (Source: Owner of a 2020 Roubaix. Great bike, but I'd double check about that groupset.)”
“The Roubaix is older than 2015 since it has the old 10-speed Ultegra 6700 groupset (Shimano introduced 11-speed Ultegra 6800 in 2014 so this bike is definitely not a 2015 if the 10-speed groupset is original equipment on this bike). Considering the age of the groupset, $500 would be a fairer price for this bike. The Felt is from the late-2000's so it's even older (~15-20 years old) with an even earlier-generation 10-speed Ultegra 6600 groupset. Definitely not worth anywhere near $1000. $400-500 range would be more reasonable. The Roubaix is an endurance bike and would be a good choice for beginner cyclists. The Felt is an aggressive aero race bike and better suited for triathlons, for those had some previous experience with road bikes and are looking for a more aggressive geometry. Ironically the older Ultegra 6600 groupset shifts a little better than the later 6700 groupset, which has added drag in the shift cable due to the complex bends with under-the-bartape shift cable routing.”
