Best praise vs top criticism for Star Trac Studio 3
“I have 500+ rows on the platform and I cannot in good conscience recommend that anyone buy into the Peloton Row because of how abysmal their support for the platform is. It has been evident for a long time that the platform never took off like they wanted and they've shoved it in a back closet to stagnate while they do the absolute bare minimum to keep it alive. No new features for years, no special events ever. Live classes are exclusively for East Coast users--they're in the 3/4am or 3/4pm hour on weekdays 100% of the time if you're on the west coast (500+ rows and not once has there been a live class I could take). At some point they are going to cut off support entirely and you'll be stuck with a "dumb" rower that cost $4000 for no reason. If you want to get into rowing, get a Concept2.”
“New to the Guide (had it a month and used it a handful of times) and so far I have a like/hate relationship with it. I hate that it doesn’t always count the reps (eg., during the AMRAP part of JJ’s 5 Day Split D2, it just refused to count the reps and logged 2 or the 3 rounds - I gave up). Like that it forces me to work a little harder to get the reps, but even that has its moments of hate when I feel like I have to rush to beat the time (potentially leading to poor form). Still learning and figuring out its idiosyncrasies. I can’t say I regret buying it.”
