Best praise vs top criticism for Sony X90L
“Personally, 110" is not large enough to be worth it anymore for me. I would go with the slightly smaller TV. Bare minimum for projection to be "worth it" for me these days is a 120" screen. If you do go with a TV, the Samsung Q80 probably wouldn't be my first choice. I would consider a Sony X90L or TCL QM851G instead. They go on sale for $4-5K pretty frequently: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tcl-98-class-qm8-series-4k-uhd-hdr-qd-mini-led-smart-google-tv-2024/6579450.p?skuId=6579450 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-98-class-bravia-xr-x90l-led-4k-uhd-smart-google-tv-2023/6544731.p?skuId=6544731 If you do end up getting a 98" TV, I would recommend you buy it from a place with a good return policy and pay to have the same place do the installation. The biggest risk you run with these large TVs is getting a panel with noticeable dirty screen effect. So when they deliver it and set it up, inspect the panel right then and there with a mix of real world content and test patterns. If the DSE on the panel is bad, have them take it back right then and there. Processing a return on a 98" TV is a real pain otherwise.”
“Dont buy samsung, dont buy x90L , the sony fanboys are ridiculous suggesting to buy a 2023 tv in 2025. TCL QM7K, or Hisense U7 I would propably go for the TCL as I really like their products and TCL has been very reliable lately”
