Best praise vs top criticism for Sony BRAVIA 8
“The Bravia 8 is the better TV. But, of these options, I'd go with the 85X90L. It's a great TV, and it's HUGE, for not an insane amount of money. Assuming your room can fit the TV, that is.”
“Because those main speakers are too small to generate the SPL levels needed to achieve reference level at what appears to be a 12' distance. Those front speakers are also too small to have sufficient mid bass and the subs are too large to to provide cover where it is lacking without booming. I struggled with this having 5.25" front JBL towers and nothing could fix that mid bass 80-120hz hole. When I upgraded to the 6.5" JBL front towers, I was finally able to achieve reference levels and the mid bass issues were mostly gone. My only regret is not spending the extra $100 for a pair of the 8" towers instead of the 6.5" when JBL was practically giving them away.”
