I had an IC4 DIY set up for three years. I used it all the time and so did my partner. We too were/are budget minded and the per month expenditure seemed too much even though we very much could afford it. Then he got curious, tried a Peloton at the mall and it did fit his frame better (he's 6'3) and the adjustments worked better and we decided to switch around a year ago. I don't find Peloton to feel cheaper, I feel like both bikes ride pretty much the same (I'm 5'11 so both bikes fit me just fine) but since switching both our fitness has improved about three fold. Working with actual metrics and not just guess work was such a huge difference. Getting into PZ has been incredibly rewarding. Not just in terms of the bike but in terms of functional strength and daily energy. I think the hotel bikes are a real disservice to Peloton as a rule because they seem to be generally poorly maintained - I have had a similar experience to you in terms of that.

Today for the first time ever on my Schwinn IC4 + Peloton app, my cadence is only showing me the range I should be hitting rather than my actual cadence I am pedaling. Anyone else ever have this issue? I’ve confirmed my bike is connected to the Peloton App via Bluetooth. It’s always worked fine before for hundreds of rides. I contacted support and they couldn’t help.
