Best praise vs top criticism for Recteq Deck Boss 590
“The recteq line (I have the Deck Boss and Bullseye) are awesome! As to your first requirement, I live in Atlanta (pretty humid) and have never had a problem leaving pellets in the hopper. Recteq’s customer service is incredible. On my Bullseye I messed up and spilled a ton of water into the firebox and it shorted out the whole control panel. Totally my fault. I posted some questions on a Facebook group thinking I was on my own as it was my fault. Happened within the first month. Recteq called me after they saw the post! They walked me through clearing the auger and the sent me a new control board for free! Both my units holds temperatures dead nuts accurate without temp swings. Feel free to ask more questions.”
“Most here will tell you to stay away from PitBoss. Cheaper now but you'll end up upgrading it later anyway. Traeger... meh. I'd go with the RT Deck Boss hands down out of those three. Since you are also looking for it to be a regular grill, I'd add the Weber Searwood to the list. I was just down to the Searwood 600 and Deck Boss myself. My local Ace carries both brands so I was able to look at both in person. Quality seemed the same to me, both have good customer service. Parts are widely available for Weber grills and they have lots of accessories available. The Searwood also has features the Deck Boss doesn't have. I went with the Searwood. Haven't cooked on it yet, just picked it up today. But from all the reviews I've read/seen, I'm expecting some pretty tasty food to come off of it.”
