+3 pts“So you have the Magnifi Max AX SR if I'm understanding correctly... Both the 1300x or 990F will 1000% be a massive upgrade from the Polk. I had that Polk system myself and it was alright but somewhat disappointing to me, mostly didn't feel the subwoofer sounded very good as it had a very strong midbass sound to it. I also expected it to have more power from the subwoofer to be honest. I thought it was going to be an upgrade from my dad's old JBL 3.1 (one of JBL's first soundbars) but it really wasn't, probably about equal honestly. The Polk was definitely a little cleaner sounding but the JBL DEFINITELY has the better & much stronger subwoofer. As far as the 990F vs the 1300X, I think I have to lean a bit more towards the 990F personally. Waiting for rTings to test the 1300X as they've tested the 1000 MK2 already and I was a little disappointed with its test results, mainly its frequency response. It's not "bad" but I definitely expected it to look a lot better on paper. Hopefully the 1300X is better on paper but I'd still say the Samsung is the safer bet especially considering it has more adjustability with its sound (JBL doesn't have channel adjustments, which is a huge plus for Samsung if you ask me).”
