Best praise vs top criticism for Lowa Camino GTX
“1.Shoes must be broken in. Plenty people enjoy the hiking boots and it's perfectly fine I am not a fan though and prefer trail runners. I am also strongly against membrane shoes in warm weather. 2.Get used to walking and just walk on weekend 10-15kms, closer to date walk 2 days in a row.If you are used to it in reality it aint a big deal at all. Not really even in the long distance category. It's only going to be hard if you will try it as challenge from the couch approach, in that case prepare for blisters, knee pain etc. 3. Lighter the backpack the easier it's going to be. 4. I have no idea of your route so it's hard to recommend stuff. In mountains water filter is awesome investment, 1p lanshan tent is also cheap and very good. Plenty of decathlon stuff is good enough for most people. Just don't buy sleeping pad, tent, bag made for camping buy specific ones for hikers which concentrate a bit on weight in their design. 5. After you walk it, take a big breath and check out other long established hikes like gr10,gr11, hexatrek, av1,av2, traumpfad, Caminos are great too and take a pick for your next adventure cause aint no way it's the end of the story, all of them have a huge benefit of meeting like minded people who would love to share a story in camp;)”
