Best praise vs top criticism for LG SP9YA
“Damn I usually don't recommend soundbars but this is perfect case for a soundbar. I got a used LG SP9YA before I starting building a real system. I still use it in my bedroom and honestly works/sounds amazing. Ordered the rear speaker transmitter, connected Polk OWM3 as side surrounds. Wireless subwoofer. Upfiring atmos. Connects to LG OLED via eArc. Decodes DTS:X and Atmos. Plays 24 bit / 192khz files. Got everything used so spent like $450. If you close your eyes you would just think it's a nice entry surround system. Use to use it on my living room and at max volume it sounded great. Doesn't compare to my AVR and 5.3.2 now but I definitely understand what you mean by not having to set things up / calibrate/ troubleshoot. Now I spend hours calibrating/fine tuning where as before I was just watching movies lol.”
“I’ve had multiple lg systems over the past 4 years the last was the sp9ya with rears. Although I was happy with all the systems one complaint I had was the center channel for voice was way too low. Imo may want to look at another brand choice. But if you want to stay with lg get the s90”
