Best praise vs top criticism for Infant Optics DXR-8 Pro Video Baby Monitor
“I will say we have a non WiFi monitor (infant optics) and we love it. I feel so much safer knowing they (rarely) get hacked into. One time we also lost internet for 2 days due to some storms, and I was so grateful we had a non WiFi one or we literally wouldn’t have been able to use a baby monitor. It has a decently far range, I’ve used it with no problem all the way in the back of our backyard which is huge. I also like that when I’m out and my husband is with the baby, I’m not tempted to check the baby monitor because I literally can’t lol. It helps you disconnect and I enjoy that. I do understand wanting access with a nanny or babysitter though, so I don’t have any advice for that. If that’s a huge deciding factor I say go for the WiFi one, because there’s no work around with a non WiFi monitor unless you got a ring or nest camera for the house for times that you’re away.”
“We are also having a second daughter in September (due date September 16th!) and my girls will be 23 months apart (older daughter born October 15th). So we lucked out with the clothes being almost exact for the seasons. I bought a coming home onesie for her, but otherwise she’ll wear all of my daughter’s clothes. However, I do have a fairly decent list of things I’m still buying. We’re moving my daughter out of the nursery across the hall to a slightly larger room next month (so she has substantial time to adjust before baby comes). So all the stuff on my list are things my daughter will still be using that we’ll need a second set of for the new baby: - second crib/toddler bed conversion kit (I want to keep my daughter in her crib as long as possible, and then she’ll need hers as a toddler bed) - second newton mattress - second set of sheets for crib - hatch 2nd gen - ubbi diaper pail - changing table mat for on top of dresser (we have a changing table in the nursery, but when my daughter moves to her new room I want a changing pad for on top her dresser). - second toddler seat for our Graco nest2grow stroller system - additional baby monitor (just the camera to add to our infant optics set we already have) - hamper for clothes - baby bath tub (we have the angelcare that we used with our daughter, but I hated it for when she was a newborn. I want a tub that sits up on the counter for when she’s little, and then will switch to the angelcare which we loved for like 3 months+) - maybeeeee new bottles? I’m exclusively formula feeding and even though we have a zillion Dr. browns bottles from with my daughter, I feel like I should probably buy a new set for the new baby.”
