tldr; Haworth's budget entry. Surprisingly good for the price. Mesh back, decent lumbar. Underrated pick.

Best praise vs top criticism for Haworth Soji
“Gamers do not sit in $200 chairs. Most gamers also don’t sit in chairs that look like a gimmick. A chair that supports your body well and provides good comfort for 50 hours a week and costs $200 will have to be a used high end chair. “>WHATS A GOOD OFFICE/GAMING CHAIR!?!? Unfortunately, the *real answer* is that there are no "good" chairs that don't require an investment. Herman Miller Aeron and Steelcase Leap V2 are historically great chairs, they're also mentioned frequently *because* they've been on the market forever and can be found second hand for $150-$300. Pretty much anything else is going to be a crapshoot to find used, and quality ergonomic chairs reach in to $1000 territory pretty quickly. If you are looking specifically to avoid HM and Steelcase, the Haworth Soji is a great alternative that is closer to Earth when it comes to budget. I've seen really good things about the Hinomi X1 and Autonomous Ergochair Pro, but I don't care for high back chairs with a headset so I can't speak to their comfort. Branch is a relative newcomer to the scene and has a pretty good following, they have fairly generous warranties, which is a good sign. Aside from that, "super comfy" and "ergonomic" are *not* the same thing. A chair that feels plush and comfortable is usually not suited for a typical 8 hour work day. Ergonomic chairs are designed to practically be invisible, when you sit in them, you don't think about the chair at all. They aren't "comfortable" in the typical sense, they are designed for a job, and that's not to leave you in pain at the end of the day. If you are looking for something comfortable the way a recliner is comfortable, you may want to stay away from chairs marketed for their ergonomics.”
