Best praise vs top criticism for Echelon EX-5s
“Contrarian view: I did this with a used Echelon EX3 for about two years. Worked pretty well until I kept having issues with the resistance motor. Rather than get a new alt-brand bike, I opted to pick up a used Peloton Bike+ for $800 even though the monthly fee is higher. I'm actually really surprised how much happier I am. It just works so much better. The ride feel is fantastic, and the resistance is so much more dialed in and responsive. I use powerzone classes and really love the ride so much better. I thought I wouldn't be a fan of the attached screen, but I quickly came to love it.”
“If you aren’t planning on getting a bike subscription, skip the peloton and get the Exhelon. Then you can use an app called qdomyos for your stats, depending on which echelon you get.”
