Best praise vs top criticism for Durston X-Mid Pro 1
“For anyone curious, hiking pole tents are perfectly fine (I love my x-mid) but there are usually structural advantages in using bungee pole style tents during some adverse conditions. My X-mid can handle a lot but I'd rather have a double wall, freestanding (bungee pole) tent if it's super terrible windy weather.”
“I was reading up on that before going with the UL2 XL. People my height (6’4”) were reporting the x-mid pro plus because of the geometry and the angled walls you end up touching the tent and getting condensation with feet and/or head, especially if your mattress has any height to it. Some people reported they could sleep diagonally, but were still uncomfortable.”
