For the PCT, both the X-Mid 1 and X-Mid Pro 1 are very popular but I think the Pro version is the better choice for that trail. The PCT is mostly quite dry, so condensation is not common (it felt overkill when I carried a doublewall tent on my 2014 PCT hike). Obviously the Pro has the downside of costing quite a bit more, but when I was designed it i kept thinking how ideally suited it is for the PCT. It's more spacious inside, much lighter, and a bit smaller footprint. Both were some of the highest rated tents in the recent PCT gear survey, but in my opinion the Pro the nicer tent for that trail if you have the budget. These are completely different shelters that you're r trying to compare. The Plex Solo is a true UL shelter sized for one. The XMid Pro 1 is light only because of its material choices, while simultaneously making excessive and unnecessary design choices. No 1P UL tent needs two doors and two vestibules. The Plex is the lighter and superior option from a design standpoint. Both are single-wall DCF tents, and so will have similar condensation issues. But it's really not that hard to avoid touching the walls. As for recommending an alternative... go for the tried-and-true UL solution and get a tarp. Just as light or lighter than a Plex, way cheaper, more livable space, condensation issues mostly go away
