Best praise vs top criticism for Cervelo Caledonia 105
“The Caledonia would be a "calmer" version of the Soloist's ride quality. I have a Caledonia and love it, and despite it being an endurance road bike I still find it plenty fast and nimble. That said, before going to a new bike I'd go back to the fitter. It's not uncommon to revise a fit after some time with it, and a lot of what you're describing sounds like a bit fit that was optimized for the wrong experience for you (too much weight on the hands, lack of stability, too low a position). Most of that should be solvable on the same bike by making adjustments. The Soloist will always be a twitchier ride than something like the Caledonia, but you might see your issues fixed enough through making position changes on the same bike.”
“I wouldn’t buy a Canyon for the sole reason that their parts support sucks. They tend to use more proprietary parts than other brands, and the Canyon sub is full of people who can’t get some important piece for a 3-year-old bike because Canyon either doesn’t make it anymore, or won’t sell it in the US. The Caledonia uses almost no proprietary stuff. It’s part of why I bought one. Great bike.”
