tldr; Budget 2-person tent. Heavy but cheap. Car camping starter.

Best praise vs top criticism for ALPS Mountaineering Lynx 2
“Alps, like others have said. I’ve had their Lynx 2p since 2018, and have been using it for deer camp every year since. Has held up really well. Even in a big downpour.”
“I think eureka tents will give you the best bang for your buck. We've been using them for years for boy scouts and they've been great. Not the best tents in the world, but the best tents I've seen in that price range. Lots of people saying Alps, but their quality is really hit or miss, and their warranty is awful (good on paper, but not honored when you need it). They gained a lot of popularity in scouting due to their scouting discount. But even with the discount, they're not worth it unless you want a disposable tent for a single event. I've seen multiple that ripped at the seams just from the tension of their own poles (not exposed to storms or other funny business).”
