A shoe like converse has a flat sole (good) a decent firm heel (good) but poor lateral support (bad) so you might "glide" around a bit in them. Another option is Adidas Spezial, it has flat sole, tough heel and lateral support and overall very good - though I have wide feet and find it to be narrow. You can also go with a powerlifting shoe like Adidas Powerlift 5.”
