“I don't know where some of these comments are coming from. The R series is a whole other level from the older 2.5 way Qs. Either the R3 or the R5 would suit. Personally I'd opt for R3s on stands. I am personally a big fan of bookshelves, though. Offloading that low end duty the the sub(s) really gives room to open up the mids and highs on the bookshelves. I am running R3s currently and I could not be happier with them. I have also spent a lot of time with Q950s. IMO there is really no comparing the two. Completely different class of speaker.”

“The R3 for side surround is extremely unnecessary as those channels don’t need a high end speaker. I’d say if you could return the R3s and get Q350s instead, and use the saved money towards a second subwoofer that would make a demonstrably better difference in experience for your home theater. Other than that, great job! And yeah, pull that couch in a couple of feet closer. You’re beyond the optimal resolution.”

“Exact same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. I ordered two SVS pb2000 pros. They shipped FedEx and when they finally arrived, the boxes were in rough shape - FedEx attempted to put them back together again with packing tape. When I opened the boxes I was gutted to see that both subs were damaged. I ordered these through Audio Advice and the good news is they took care of it. I returned the damaged ones and they shipped another set to me. I completely agree with you, if I can avoid FedEx, I absolutely will from now on.”
