Dreame L20 Ultra vs Roborock S8+

“Personally, I would get a pair of Roborock S8+s with the self emptying docks because nothing else currently made can vacuum rugs and carpets nearly as well. Then I would get a decent midrange model with spinning mops with an extending side brush and an extending rear mop and an automated dock to do all the mopping. I do not think any single, currently manufactured robovac can get a house as clean as this combination. A single Roborock S8+ and any midrange model with the features listed above is the best solution possible right now, and this combo would cost about half as much as one of the new top of the line models that would not vacuum nearly as well.”

“Unfortunately, my own experience is pretty mixed. When compared to my Dreame L20, it doesn't even come close at all. While the cleaning in itself is ok, it is still so buggy and... not going to cut it in 2025 for that pricepoint, I'm afraid. Jobs disappearing, robot going into error, cancelling the job but no mention anywhere. The dock in itself, the water bins are even very tiny (compared to L20). The dock wants to speak the error, but is making so much noise that you can't hear what the dock says... In the end, it was some vague waste bin reservoir overflowing... (Wet) Hair clogging... Leaving a mess everywhere While the waste bin in the robot and dock were empty... The app is horrible and locks up/forgets/forgets things all the time... At best, I'd say this robot is worth not more than 500. In my opinion, it's not worth the money of even an L20 (L20 outshines this by a lot). I'm afraid that iRobot won't be able to survive if you look at the 705 combo max, which is mediocre at best from my testing... Which is a pity, because I ordered a 705 with the intent to support them...”
