Best praise vs top criticism for Asus ROG Strix XG27AQ
Best Praise
+1 pts“I adore my XG27AQMR for what it's worth, but these days there are 27" 1440p OLEDs that I'd probably get unless you _really_ don't want an OLED.”

+1 pts“For me it was worth it, as I'm willing to pay for build quality and good product QC. I've been trying to find a decent high refresh rate 1440p monitor for years, buying multiple 27GL850, XG27AQ, 27GP850, VG27AQML, and even some KOORUI panel as a shot in the dark. Every monitor I received was defective in some way, with issues like dust behind the panel, dead pixels, and radically inconsistent backlight color being the most common. It's annoying to find your fancy new gaming panel is orange on the right half, and blue on the left. This was by far the most common issue with every monitor I tried, and people say it's normal. I use Asus ProArt displays at my office (PA278CV x2), and neither of them have any issues like I experienced with the monitors I bought. So once I found out Asus made a 144 Hz version, I immediately bought one. Colors are great, FreeSync works without issue, backlight is consistent, and it's built like a tank. Best of all, there were zero issues out of the box. With a total of ten "gaming" monitors purchased over the last four years, this one is the first that I'm not immediately returning. Barring any hardware issues, I'll be using it until it dies.”

+2 pts“Tizen on monitors must work differently than Tizen on TVs because on my G95SC monitor I've never experienced what you said about when the monitor goes to sleep, and it's only updated when I've done so manually. Also I like having the smart functionality because it lets me plug in nice wired speakers using the monitor's USB-C port and connect to them with airplay, or any device connected to the monitor rather than just my desktop (and yeah non-smart monitors could do the second part but usually not via usb-c so you're stuck with their usually crap quality built-in aux jack)”
