My £170 (at time of purchase) Viofo A129 Duo which has the best sensor on the market at the time of purchase, struggles to pick up registration plates in the dark, even with a polarised lens attachment fitted. If you are planning on upgrading, find a dashcam with the Sony STARVIS 2 sensor built in as this is the best sensor available at the moment that has HDR ability and will be better in low light conditions - any camera with this sensor will also have capacitor power rather than an installed battery which is better for longevity.”
