tldr; Reddit generally considers the Vantrue N5 a good option for multi-channel recording (3-4 channels, including interior), featuring a supercapacitor for reliability, though some prefer the N4 Pro for its 4K resolution.

Best praise vs top criticism for Vantrue N5
โI tried the n5 before returning it. I try everything out for 2 days before installing to make sure it works. I plugged in and that thing got hot at least 121.3 in a 75 degree house so I sent back and got the a229 pro 3 channel and have been happy with it since mayโ
โI have the Vantrue N5 (4 cameras). Here's my story. I started off using a Samsung Evo pro plus 512gb. Everything worked great from the start , no issues . 4 months later I started getting a slow SD pop up on the screen. I tried everything from getting a Samsung pro Endurance sd ,restting everything, firmware updates, disconnecting the rear cams , lowering resolution etc. Nothing worked .After calls and emails with customer service on troubleshooting, I had to get a new cam through warranty. New camera with updated firmware worked great , until I connected the rear cams . With rear cams connected I'm getting the same pop up again. Disconnecting the rear cams solved it . The Samsung pro Endurance doesn't have the write speed to handle 4 cameras. My next step is to lower the resolution on the interior cams , and if that doesn't work I may have to buy the Vantrue micro sd if their write speeds are what they say they are . Don't buy an N5 if you don't really need 4 cameras. Running 4 cams in HD can be very demanding .There aren't any affordable (Endurance) cards that can handle the necessary speeds to run all cams at their highest resolution. My last resort would be to pay $85.00 for a ridiculously overpriced Vantrue card that may or may not work .โ
