Best praise vs top criticism for Takomo 101
“They are fine clubs. I would say their forged irons 301/201 are better clubs than the 101/101T because there is less their to mess up. Between the 101T and 101 I think the 101T is a better overall club but both have had some QA issues here and there, granted for the the price that's the risk you take. Best bang for your buck from a DTC would probably be Maltby. Sti2 or KE4 Max are pretty tough to beat on value, performance, and looks. The TS line (and TE+) are really nice forged offerings and you can get full sets built for under $600 or more if you want to pick your own shafts and grips. The nice thing with Maltby is they have their own club designers, they aren't just buying blanks from a manufacturer that they get tweaked. I think the same goes for Sub 70 golf.”
“I play blades because they are fun and I hate myself. I'm about a 12, but like the feedback I get from a forged MB vs a goo filled dull feeling iron. I bought some Takomo 101's and they were straight as arrows, but I had no idea where my strike was and I hated that.”
