Best praise vs top criticism for Stearns & Foster Reserve
“I am going to answer your question in parts to be able to give you a better answer. If you've liked your tempurpedic, I would definitely recommend at least trying what is available now. From what I've been told, they feel better and sleep a lot cooler than they used to. 9 years is a pretty good lifespan for any mattress, especially since if you've had any major life changes in that time span. If you are hot sleepers, the breeze line is nice. If you don't noticeably sleep warmer, the luxeadapt medium hybrid or proadapt would be a nice place to start. Beautyrest Black is a great mattress. They use a triple braided coil for the support system, which means they stay solid and firm for longer in their lifespan. In the firm and medium, they alternate using a firmer and plusher coil. If you sleep on your side, I would recommend the medium rather than the firm because it has more padding for your shoulder and hips. As for the serta bases you mentioned, we do not carry those, so I don't have any experience with them. I did look them up, and we have bases with similar features that are at a slightly better price point. An adjustable base is always a good investment, in my opinion. The reason I say this is that you are able to customize your experience in bed a lot more. They will usually last the lifespan of about 2 mattresses (20 years). Deciding if it will benefit you is difficult because everyone is so different. If you would like the ability to adjust the head to reduce snoring, help with allergies or sleep apnea, or even if you are just sick, it is a big benefit to me. Having legs that can adjust can help with sciatic pain, knee pain (has personally helped mine), aching feet from a long day, or restless leg syndrome. It also helps with circulation issues and recovery from surgeries. Some of the features like massage, core (lumbar) adjustment, and smart features are the ones that get a little more tricky. Personally, I always recommend massage because it helps with body aches and can help if you have trouble falling asleep due to the vibrations and sound it makes. The lumbar can help extend the life of your mattress and let you adjust how much support you want to feel in your lower back area. It's up to you to decide if those are features that are valuable to you. If you are interested in the Ritz mattress, please note that it is a plush mattress, not firm like you asked for. I'd recommend going into a store to try the estate, lux estate, or reserve lines to see if they feel how you like. Without knowing what size you need, specific areas that are aching or keeping you up, and budget, it would be tough to make a recommendation to you. If you'd like to DM me to go into more detail, please feel free! I really hope this helps!”
“Mattress manufacturers are notorious for changing names of their products among different retailers, where the mattress itself is the same. This is to make it more difficult to do price matches, have price competition or comparison shop. I tried a mattress with a similar name (not sure if it is the same as yours). It was called the Sealy Posturepedic Captain’s Reserve Toledo - it was meh for me.”
