Boy can they get pricey. But the cheap ones are junk and frustrating. I think the Shimano Curado has been and still is the best bang for the buck. Mine has 50lb braid paired with an Okuma swim bait rod. I use it for heavy jigs, chatter baits, and frogs. It’s a big bait/big fish dream.

It makes it when I’m fighting a fish or sometimes right after I cast and I reengage the reel. Everything will be normal then all of a sudden, it will make the noise, the line slacks out, then I lose the fish. The Line gets let out as if I push down the button to cast or almost like the reel is slipping in some way. The rod tip will also lose all tension unlike any of my other bait casters when my drag is tight. And yes the drag is all the way tight on the curado. I have a bunch of musky rods with bait casters and have never had an issue like this before.
