Best praise vs top criticism for REI Co-op Base Camp 4
“Base camp shoes. Nothing better than having a comfortable pair of slipper type shoes to wear around camp after a long hike.”
“I think you've got a decent chance of getting 3 in there but it's going to be annoying in setup, tear down, and in use. I have a "4 person" kelty basecamp 4 with floor area of 97x79 (53 ft2). I can get two cots in there with maybe 6 inches between them. Anything extra in the tent needs to get stuffed under the cots and is not very accessible with the door zipped. What i hadn't considered is that the long dimension on mine is the width not the depth so one of the cots directly blocks the door requiring you to climb over. Looking at the dimensions it should work to go the other orientation but it didn't seem like it when I tried and I was nervous about poking holes in the new tent. Maybe I'll try again next time.”
