tldr; E61 dual boiler with 0.75L brew and 1.0L steam boilers. Optional flow control paddle makes it a true endgame machine. More compact than Pro 700 with vibration pump.

Best praise vs top criticism for Profitec Pro 600
“I think once you get a Synch, you will realize it *is* an endgame machine. It has everything you could ask for and really hard to justify the LMLM over it. There are even some advantages I'd say. IMO the rotary pump alone makes it worth it over the 600 so that's an easy decision. Even if you don't plumb, the lack of noise (and the fact that nothing rattles) is 100% worth it. Also you never know, you may want to plumb. IMO your decision should be between the Bianca and the Synch, especially if you can get a v2 at a discount. The ECM is nicer, but the build quality issues on the Bianca are exaggerated. I won't try to convince you there though - the ECM is gorgeous and definitely more tank-like. Between these two, ECM all the way.”
“> some machines will alternate between heating elements to keep the current down, but that just sounds like a longer warm up time Not true for E61 DB machines. When I start up my QM67, here's what happens: 1. The brew boiler heats up first. It only takes a couple of minutes to reach brew temperature (around 200F). 2. The E61 thermosyphon loop starts to heat up the group. This takes around 45 minutes. 3. While the E61 is heating up, the steam boiler starts to heat up. It heats up to steam temperature (around 255F) in about 10 minutes. 4. After both boilers are at their desired temperatures, I need to wait another 30 minutes more for the E61 to finish heating up. If you get a machine with a saturated group, like a La Spaziale, then there is a significant time savings running both boilers at the same time, since the lack of E61 reduces the group warm up time to a few minutes. As an owner of both a Profitec Pro 500 HX and a Quick Mill QM67 DB, I would recommend you avoid HX. Life is too short to have to deal with HX temperature management. Profitec Pro 600 or Quick Mill QM67 might be good machines for you to consider. Given your desire to tinker, I would also recommend you get the optional E61 Flow Control device.”
