That said, as people have pointed out, the LMLM newer models rely on an app to change the machine settings which is just so unnecessary. The other thing is for the price premium, you are really not gaining much unless you are looking simply for flat 9bar shot profiles with no real other tweaks besides preinfusion. The headspace between the group head and drip tray without the special tray to hold an acaia scale is very short. I could not fit my 14oz yeti rambler on top of an acaia lunar scale under their standard bottomless portafilter. LMLM owners will say they simply brew then pour into taller glasses as necessary but to me, this is unreasonable and an extra cup/mess to clean up after. I got the Profitec Drive which is very similar to the ECM synch 2. If u are new to espresso and interested in tinkering and experimenting with your beans, the LMLM will not give you as much opportunity. The ECM Synch honestly has it all for end-game machine and is well-made with lots of service and parts available as an e61 machine. Take ur fave mug to a showroom and ask to demo both. Its the only way you will really know which machine you will prefer.”
