Best praise vs top criticism for Nextool Sailor Pro
“I like the Nextool because it's more compact, really neat tiny package. It has all the tools I personally would want on a wee thing like that, even a 2.5D phillips, which I've yet to test, but seems okay. I missed out on the Leatherman Squirt, I'm glad there's something similar, and I think I like this tool set a bit better. The SOG has much better pliers, so if that's the main reason you want one of these then go for that one. The Nextool's pliers are basically heavy duty tweezers, not useful for any real work, but they are spring-loaded which is nice. What I don't like about the SOG is its toolset, which feels a lot less well thought out. Several of the tools are basically just sharp pokey bits. The main thing though is they're quite hard to access. I'm sure they will brake in over time, I've not even tuned the pivot tension yet or oiled it tbh, but out of the box they're borderline unuseable, innaccessable. I've got pretty useable fingernails but it's just not a great design imo”
“Roxon flex is definitely on the list to look at, it's a shame you have to order it from Amazon and then buy all the extra sets to customise it. Goat tool, lots of reviews I've seen, say to maybe wait for them to bring out the next version so it fixes some of the issues. Mini sailor, mini flagship seems to be good for a pocket multitool but not useful for actual work (medium use). A friend broke one just from tightening a small bolt on an IKEA trolley thing. Is there a good option to remove the blade from a leatherman?? Curl seems like it would work but unsure or is there tools that could replace the knife. The 125 cobras are great pliers, never really failed me. I also carry a UK legal pocket knife for heavy use. A SAK for all the extra tools. And in a pouch I have scissors and an Allen key screwdriver bit driver. All of which I would love to change into one fully UK legal multitool.”
